Recent protectionist measures in UE

Finland

 On 25 April 2013, a regulation came into force stating that under cabotage, following termination of a transportation operation in Finland, haulage companies based in EU Member States have been allowed to conduct a maximum of three haulage operations in a 7-day period and no more than 10 operations in a period of three months. Customers have a legal obligation to ensure that cabotage regulations are being complied with. Both the police and customs officials are acting as monitors. Haulage vehicles have to carry the international CMR freight consignment note and present this to police officers on request. The extended use of foreign vehicles for transportation operations within Finland under legal cabotage is not permitted, as they have to be registered in Finland within seven days of their importation. Just think few seconds and consider what you have done in recent period, last year, to increase the competitivity of EU in front of other significant economic global players?

I am sure you did a lot related to internal oganisation of EU, or at least you tried.

The French government has enforced new national regulations that might inflame the vandalism acts within the European road transport

UNTRR requires the Romanian and European authorities to urgently take measures to determine French and Belgian authorities to immediately withdraw their recent national regulations on the introduction of severe fines and penalties applicable in case drivers spend their weekly rest period in vehicles. UNTRR requires the French government to call for the immediate cancellation of these measures conflicting with the fundamental values of the EU! Otherwise, we recommend France to leave the EU!

UNTRR addresses the Romanian government and the European Commission for emergency measures for the immediate withdrawal of the new anti-European and anti-competitive regulations recently introduced by France and Belgium, regarding the severe fines and penalties applicable in case drivers spend their weekly rest period in vehicles.
